Originally produced by the BBC in Britain, the film received such critical acclaim that it was released in the USA as a full theatrical engagement. Roger Michell has assembled a cast that is so perfectly suited for their roles that one can't imagine anyone else playing Austen's beautifully rounded characters. The period is meticulously reconstructed and we are swept there naturally and without pretension. Persuasion stars Amanda Root and Ciarán Hinds, with Fiona Shaw, Sophie Thompson, Judy Cornwell and Emma Roberts. It will be presented in Wide Screen Dimension.
