Denzel
Washington's
The Great Debaters
Starring Denzel Washington and
Forest Whitaker
A powerful drama
based on the true story of Melvin B. Tolson, a professor
at Wiley College Texas. In 1935, he inspired students to
form the school's first debate team; the team went on to
challenge none other than the prestigious (and naturally
favored to win) Harvard in the national championship.
Critics rave about the acting, directing and emotional
impact of the story. Underdogs can still be
champions.
